My name is Sebastian Ion, and since childhood, I have been passionate about sports and physical activity. I was a competitive table tennis professional player, and I believe that physical education and sports classes should not only focus on improving physical abilities but also encompass a broader development, ranging from emotional to social skills.

I pursued my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the “National University of Physical Education and Sport in Bucharest” between 2011 and 2016, obtaining a master’s degree in “Physical Education and Motric Leisure Activities” with the highest grade. The following year, I obtained Definitivatul.

In 2014, right after completing my bachelor’s studies, I started working as a teacher in a public school.

In 2017, I accepted the challenge to work at Avenor, where I had the pleasure of witnessing the passion and dedication of students in various sports competitions, leading to remarkable achievements. Additionally, I actively engage in extracurricular activities, school trips, camps, and participate with our representative teams in competitions, even at  international level. 

One of the projects that I am particularly fond of is The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, one of the world’s best personal development programs for young people aged between 14 and 24. My involvement as a mentor for Avenor students enrolled in this program is an opportunity that I strive to make the most of, to continuously help them develop new useful skills and competencies.

Since starting my career at Avenor, I have appreciated the school’s commitment to providing continuous development opportunities for both teachers and students. As a result, I have attended specialized courses organized by Harvard University and obtained Gradul Didactic 2 within the Romanian system.

This year, I embark on a new extraordinary journey with the students I will guide as their Form tutor. I take great pleasure in organizing educational support activities, counseling sessions, personal development workshops, and career guidance for them. I believe that in the educational environment, the relationship between parents, students, and teachers is of utmost importance. I aim to build trusting relationships with my students and their parents.
