“Be the change you want to see in the world.”

I have chosen this phrase to be my guide in the time spent with children, because I believe that change starts with them. The main goal is to make them identify me as a traveling guide in adventure, but at the same time as a friend, who follows the same path as them. I want to guide and support them in their development and to assist them when discovering their personality and abilities, with the help of positive thinking. At the same time, I love that in this process, not only them, but also me, we always have something to learn, because a day that you don’t learn something new is a wasted day.

As soon as I successfully graduated from the “Petrache Triscu” Sports Programme High School, with the experience of a performance athlete in Judo and my love for children, I headed towards a teaching career. One of the main reasons why I decided to fully dedicate myself to this profession and turn it into the change I want to see in the world, was the fact that every time I had the opportunity I supported non-governmental organisations and not only, by being involved in volunteer activities. These activities helped me to perceive reality differently and to realise how much there is a need for people with initiative, for people who want more, or to do things better.

The desire for knowledge, the spirit of adventure and curiosity made me gravitate myself towards the discovery of a new education system and a different culture, in order to enrich both my personal baggage with new experiences and to also get acquainted with a new vision of the teaching system.

At Avenor, I took part in several courses with the focus on Early Years Foundation Stage approach and Schemas of Learning through play. I also attended Professional Learning webinars such as: ‘Delivering engaging continuous provision to enhance learning and development in Early Years’, Promoting the joy of mark making and writing in Early Years’ and ‘Teaching self-regulation to promote positive classroom behaviour.’

After a period of time living in England, observing the society I was in, I decided that it was the right time to consolidate the information gained in the previous years, so I chose to enroll at Christ Church University in Canterbury. Here, I completed a year within the International Foundation Programme and then I considered it necessary to deepen the discipline studied following another three years of university study, specialising in Early Childhood Studies and Sport Psychology.

In 2021, I returned to Romania, hoping to live the experience of being a teacher, which I had long dreamed of.

I love what I do and just like the little ones, I’m not satisfied with a little and I want to develop myself. Applying the knowledge acquired in college but also those resulting from personal experiences, I wish that at the end of each day I can look in the mirror and be able to say with pride: “Mission accomplished! The dream continues.”

What can be more pleasant than looking into the warm and gentle eyes of the little ones, knowing that you are part of their development process?

Every day I feel blessed and happy because I start my day with hugs and smiles. In the coming year, I want to become the best version of myself, studying and learning from every situation and from every person.
