Ionel Vodă

Sports & PE Curriculum Leader
Teacher of Sports & PE

As a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Spiru Haret University in Bucharest (2004) and holding a Master’s degree in Sports Activity Management (2006), I have built a career in education, driven by my passion for sports and its positive influence on students’ overall development.

My teaching journey began in 2005 at Nicolae Bălcescu Technological High School in Oltenița, and between 2010 and 2011, I taught at a private school in Bucharest. In 2013, I became part of the Avenor College team, motivated by the opportunity to inspire students to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.

As Sports & PE Curriculum Leader, I lead a team of dedicated teachers, working together to make sports lessons engaging and meaningful. Beyond physical fitness, I emphasise the importance of key values such as fair play, respect, teamwork, and discipline.

Committed to continuous professional growth, I have earned the First Teaching Degree, completed the COBIS Programme for Middle Leaders, and obtained various international certifications in curriculum development and modern teaching methodologies.

I firmly believe that a physical education teacher’s role extends beyond the sports field. My goal is to support students in shaping their character and equipping them with essential skills that will benefit them in any future path they choose. Contributing to the school’s mission of excellence is something I take great pride in, and I remain committed to learning and education, with the mission of providing students with the tools they need to reach their full potential, both in their personal lives and in the careers they will build.
