Corina Oprea
Nursery Teacher
I have been a part of Avenor since 2020. Over the past few years, I have undergone a significant learning and growth process, both as a class teacher and in other roles. During the 2023-2024 school year, I was responsible for implementing the Learning Outside The Classroom (LOTC) programme for Nursery, assisting with the assessment process, and leading the student council. These experiences have not only expanded my skill set but also deepened my understanding of early childhood education.
My passion for culture and stories as a means of conveying culturally coded information led me to graduate from the University of Bucharest’s Faculty of History, specializing in Ancient History and Archaeology. My thesis focused on comparative mythology, specifically cosmogonic myths. I also completed a pedagogy course at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, where I gained insights into knowledge transfer and the significance of early years education. Additionally, I pursued a Master’s programme in Art History and Cultural Philosophy at the same university.
Beyond my interest in myths and stories, I have always been enthusiastic about foreign languages and cultures. I currently hold a C1 Advanced Cambridge Certificate.
The upcoming year will bring a shift in my responsibilities as I return to my role as a class teacher. The experience I’ve gained from my past roles enhanced my approach to teaching. I am confident that these insights will help me become an even more effective and empathetic class teacher.
I am eagerly looking forward to sharing these experiences and many more alongside the children in the upcoming school year.
