Teacher of ESL
One of the greatest opportunities in life is working with people, especially with children, actively contributing to their development, shaping their destinies. The job of a teacher implies more than delivering a certain subject to a group of students in a pleasant and attractive manner, it consists of opening new paths of thinking, it implies encouraging personal growth, it is a whole process of supervising the evolution of each individual. Engaging myself in this career has offered me the biggest achievement so far, not only professionally, but personally as well. I find great joy around children, every time I enter a classroom it feels like they vitalize me, they make me radiate with happiness and energy.
In 2016 I graduated from National College “Costache Negri” in Tg. Ocna, philology section, and since I was armed with a passion for grammar and literature, I decided to follow The Faculty of Letters of the “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău (Romanian-English specialization). The great mentors and teachers encountered there have inspired me through their dedication towards teaching and contributed to the naïve thought of becoming a teacher myself. I joined the courses of the Psychopedagogical Module Level 1, which granted me the certification to teach English Language in secondary education and in 2019 I became a graduate in Philology. Not long after, I became a Master’s student at the Master’s Degree in “English Language: Communication Practices” within the Faculty of Letters of the “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău. I also enrolled in the courses of the second level of the Psychopedagogical Module which offers me the qualification to teach in high school.
In 2020, out of curiosity, I wanted to explore a new field, so I started my first job as a Customer Service Agent in a company that offers technical support services to international clients. This position offered me the opportunity to enhance my communication and negotiation skills, to manage my time, to understand the customers’ needs, and the most important aspect, teamwork. I was sure that all the above skills would serve me well into whichever job I choose, so in September 2021 my dream came true: I started a job as an English Teacher at a primary school in Bucharest. I quickly adapted to the responsibilities that I had, I fell in love with planning and organizing my lessons to be as entertaining as possible and I realized I have a special place among children. Being able to understand their jokes, to play their games with the same passion, to expose my childish side granted me a unique connection with my students.
I’m happy to be part of the Avenor community, a place where I learn something new every day—whether from the students or my colleagues—and where I have the chance to support the children by sharing my knowledge with them.
