Alexandra Pădurariu
Learning Assistant
Teacher of English
Being a teacher at Avenor represents the fulfilment of one of my earliest childhood dreams. My desire to pursue a career in education was never a passing aspiration – it has been a constant thread throughout my life, guiding many of the important choices I have made. My fascination with the English language has shaped me both academically and personally, transforming my passion into a vocation dedicated to supporting children as they learn, grow, and thrive.
My academic journey began in 2018, when I graduated from “August Treboniu Laurian” National College in Botoșani, where I studied Philology with a bilingual English specialisation. It was my English teachers who first inspired me to pursue this path. Their guidance, encouragement, and belief in my potential motivated me to continue my studies at university. I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English and Romanian Language and Literature from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași in 2021. Alongside my degree, I completed Level I of the Romanian Teacher Training Programme, qualifying me to teach both English and Romanian at Primary and Lower Secondary level.
Driven by a desire to broaden my cultural perspective, I continued my studies with a Master’s degree in British Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, graduating in the summer of 2024. This programme allowed me to deepen my understanding of British literature, history, and culture while maintaining a strong connection with the English language. Later that same year, I joined the Avenor community.
My experience at Avenor has been a continuous journey of learning, professional growth, and self-development. During the 2025 – 2026 academic year, I had the opportunity to combine two complementary roles: Learning Assistant and English Teacher. This experience has given me a well-rounded perspective on the educational process and a deeper understanding of how each child learns and develops.
As a Learning Assistant, I have developed a deep appreciation for the importance of individualised support, patience, and adapting teaching to meet each child’s unique needs and pace of learning. At the same time, my role as an English Teacher allows me to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where children gain the confidence to communicate, think creatively, and explore the world through a new language.
My professional journey is also shaped by a commitment to continuous learning. I achieved the highest score in the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT), Module 1: Language and Background to Language Learning and Teaching. This qualification validates both my theoretical knowledge and the practical teaching skills I have developed through my daily work in the classroom.
I am delighted to continue my journey alongside the Avenor community of students, colleagues, and families. I look forward to building lasting relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration, while supporting every child with kindness, encouragement, and confidence as they embark on their own exciting journey of learning, discovery, and personal growth.
