Middle School
Avenor’s Middle School caters to the unique developmental needs of adolescents, prioritising emotional and intellectual growth. Students in Middle School are empowered with choice and ownership, honing independent learning skills within a dynamic environment.
Our Secondary School is committed to supporting every student, emphasising progress over mere attainment. While we celebrate academic achievements, our primary goal is to add significant value to each student’s journey at Avenor. We are dedicated to nurturing growth and instilling values that endure beyond their time in our school.

Curriculum
The Cambridge approach to learning helps students communicate effectively and confidently by developing their critical and creative thinking skills, as well as their ability to apply information from various sources and communication mediums to concrete, authentic situations.
Additionally, at the middle school level, the requirements of the Romanian National Curriculum are followed—standards, reference objectives, content, and competencies. Similarly, teachers are trained to use specific teaching methods and principles of international education to adapt resources, content, and teaching/assessment methods to the individual learning needs of students, in accordance with the Cambridge curriculum and educational resources.

We want our students to be happy children and to become well-balanced future adults, able to develop beautiful relationships with those around them, to empathise and be receptive to the environment in which they live. In addition to curricular activities, these children need to invent, take risks, make mistakes, play together and enjoy life. They need personal development. They need personal development.
Avenor College’s vision is inspired by Howard Gardner’s theory of “multiple intelligences”, according to which the school must develop and motivate students’ individual values through academic, sports and artistic programmes supported by personal, emotional, and social factors.
PSHE classes
Every week, Avenor College students have a personal development class in which, through discussions and thematic projects, they learn to understand each other and to understand those around them.

Avenor College Assessment System.
This system is one that encourages personal development. Regardless of the activities in which they participate (curricular or co-curricular), children are always evaluated taking into account both the “Attainment” (results) and the effort and progress for each subject.
“House points” system
Children from the entire school are divided into four houses and accumulate points for joint activities and projects, school events or volunteer activities. Belonging to houses helps them to develop relationships with older or younger students and to join forces in common goals.
Student council
It is the way in which students can express their point of view (through representatives elected by vote in each class) on how they think school activities should be conducted, but also an opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
Results
Year after year, our students’ results in end-of-middle school evaluations place Avenor among the top schools in Romania and globally. With strong motivation, well-structured learning strategies, and effective organization, Avenor students have successfully demonstrated their skills and abilities.
Guided by a dedicated team of teachers and supported by their families, these ambitious and persevering young people show, through their achievements, that hard work and responsibility are key to success.
We are proud of them and recognize their efforts, as well as their drive to excel, as they continue to uphold the values of our school.
